Pack Meetings

Save the Date!!

Our October Pack Meeting will be held on Saturday, October 24th and will coincide with our annual fall camping trip! The pack meeting will begin at 5:00pm but feel free to arrive anytime after 10:00am on Saturday to set up camp and begin exploring.

The meeting will be held at the Lewis Morris Park Group Camping Site. More information on the fall camping trip is below and details are available on ScoutBook!

Model Rocket Launch
Sunday, September 27th
Mendham, NJ

Join us Sunday, September 27th for our annual model rocket launch event. Rockets will be available for pick up at the annual picnic on Sunday, August 30th at Brookside Beach or at the optional workshop on Saturday, September 19th (details below).

Scouts are welcome to join at anytime during the event, but we are providing the following launch schedule as a guideline:

11:00am: 4th and 5th graders
12:00pm: Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd graders

This is a recruiting event so please ask your scouts to invite a friend. Please advise interested friends they will need to participate in the required check-in event on September 25th as well.

The following are part of the Rocket Launch event. More information is provided on ScoutBook:

OPTIONAL: Rocket workshop: Saturday, September 19th from 1-4pm in Meadowood Park in Mendham Township- scouts can pick up their rocket kits and also assemble their rockets. Assistance will be available.

REQUIRED: Rocket check-in on September 25th between 5-7pm at Meadowood Park in Mendham Township. This check-in will coincide with the September pack meeting.

Fall Family Camping and Pack Meeting
Saturday, October 24th - Sunday, October 25th
Mendham, NJ

Join us Saturday, October 24th - Sunday, October 25th for our annual Fall Family Camping Weekend! This event will be held at the Lewis Morris Park Campgrounds. To access the campgrounds, you must enter from Tempe Wick Road. The pack meeting will begin at 5:00pm. Overnight camping is not required.

Arrival: Anytime after 10:00am on Saturday. You can set up camp and spend the day hiking/exploring or continue with daytime activities and return later. You are able to come and go as you wish.

Dinner: Cooking is done individually. There will be fire rings provided at the site and this is the recommended cooking approach.

Pack Meeting: Each den will prepare a short skit to act out in front of the group. The Pack 3 leadership team will also perform a skit. Following the meeting there will be a campfire and s'mores.

Prohibited Items: Please refrain from bringing alcohol on site. Please do not allow older scouts to bring knives to this event.

AOLs: Will receive a separate invitation regarding the Den's event on October 23rd.

Jockey Hollow Hike
Saturday, November 14th
Mendham, NJ

Join us Saturday, November 14th for our annual November hike through beautiful Jockey Hollow National Historic Park. There will be two options for hikes, a 5 mile hike for the older scouts and a shorter, 2 mile hike for the younger scouts (though those ambitious scouts can certainly opt for the longer hike). Scouts completing the 5-mile hike can earn a Jockey Hollow badge if they are able to answer a few questions about the site, turn in their papers, and make sure their name is recorded by the hike leader.

Remember to dress for the weather and wear appropriate shoes for the rocky terrain. If you are planning on the 5-mile hike, remember to pack a light lunch as we stop to eat with a view of the New York skyline.

Remember to pack the six essentials for any Cub Scout outdoor activity!

Army West Point Football Scout Day
Saturday, November 21st
West Point, NY

Join us Saturday, November 21st for Army West Point Football Scout Day! The Army vs. East Carolina football game starts at noon. Scout Day activities begin at 7am and are included your ticket purchase. A full-dress cadet parade, Fan Fest with live music, and an on-field parachute demonstration are among the activities which will take place before the game kicks off at 12 pm.

Tickets are $37 each and are open to Scouts and their families. Payment is due at sign up and can be made via check (made our to Mendham Pack 3 and dropped off at 1 East Ridge Rd, Morristown, NJ) or venmo (@MendhamPack3).
